The Room

Our guestroom is part of a spacious private apartment with high ceilings in a late 19th century building. The room covers 32 square meters (roughly 340 square feet), it has a wooden floor and a large window facing the building’s court. Next to the room, there’s a separate modern bathroom with shower, WC and sink.

The room is furnished with a large bed for two (160 x 200 cm), a wardrobe, a table and three chairs. Bedsheets and towels are provided. There’s also a hair dryer. In addition, there’s an electric kettle so you can make yourself a cup of coffee or tea. There’s one thing however that you won’t find in the room: an ashtray. Smokers are requested to leave our apartment if they want to smoke.

Our guests can access our W-LAN/WiFi.

The Environment

Our apartment is centrally located right at the edge of Berlin-Mitte and Charlottenburg. The house is situated in a rather quiet residential neighborhood close to Berlin’s central park, right next to S-Bahn station Tiergarten. In the immediate neighborhood you find a bakery store, a restaurant and fast-food facilities. Other than that there is a large park where you can relax, walk, run or visit the beer garden in the summertime.

As the S-Bahn station is right in front of the house it is easy to get around. Go four stops by S-Bahn in eastern direction to Hackescher Markt or two stops in western direction to Savignyplatz and you’ll find a wide variety of restaurants, coffee shops, bars and shops.

How to get here

If you come to Berlin by train you’ll probably arrive at Hauptbahnhof. From there, take any west-bound S-Bahn (Charlottenburg, Potsdam, Spandau) to Tiergarten station. (It is recommended that visitors buy travelcards for one day or for several days. You’ll find comprehensive information about local traffic in Berlin at bvg.)

If you should arrive at Tegel airport, get the bus TXL to Hauptbahnhof or the bus X9 to Zoologischer Garten, from there continue by S-Bahn to Tiergarten. Arriving at Schönefeld airport go to Hauptbahnhof by Airport-Express or by S-Bahn directly to Tiergarten. If you prefer to take a cab, the trip from Tegel to our place is about 13 €, the trip from Schönefeld is much more expensive.

If you should arrive by car you’ll usually find a free parking lot in the street in the immediate neighborhood without any problems.
